What causes low blood creatinine in women

Low blood creatinine in women may be related to low muscle content, mostly physiological factors.
Blood creatinine ranges from 53 to 106 μmol/L in males and 44 to 97 μmol/L in females. Creatinine is divided into exogenous creatinine and endogenous creatinine, with exogenous creatinine mainly coming from diet and other sources, while endogenous creatinine is mainly produced by muscle metabolism.
The most common cause of low creatinine in women is low muscle mass. Women who eat more vegetarian food, less meat and eggs, and have poorer nutritional conditions may have low blood creatinine.
If a woman has low blood creatinine, it is recommended that she consult a doctor in a timely manner to identify the cause under the guidance of a medical professional and get prompt treatment.
