What to do for minor fractures

Treatment for minor fractures is usually conservative. For minor stable fractures, the patient only needs to rest and avoid weight-bearing activities of the affected limb, and it usually heals in about 5-6 weeks. However, for minor fractures that are relatively unstable, the fracture can be fixed in a plaster or splint to prevent displacement of the fracture. If the fracture line is blurred, the external fixation device can be removed and functional exercises can be actively performed to restore the joint function.
