How to prevent scarring

Scar hyperplasia can be prevented in the early stage of injury, during treatment and after healing, as follows. 1. Early stage of injury: Do not blindly treat yourself after trauma, burns and other wounds, but consult a doctor as soon as possible, properly treat the wound in a timely manner to prevent or effectively control infection and foreign body retention. 2. During treatment: For patients who need suture, it is recommended that the suture used should be fine, with complete reduction of tension and opposite layers of suture on both sides of the wound; special incision should be used in the parts where scars are easy to be formed to reduce the tension during suture. 3. After healing: topical silicone preparations are the first line of medicine for all types of proliferative scarring, especially in the early healing period after trauma, continuous topical application has a better preventive effect on scarring. In addition, scarred individuals should avoid traumas or surgeries, such as rhinoplasty and ear piercing.
