What is crown and bridge repair

A crown and bridge restoration is a type of restoration that uses a full crown as a retainer that is fixed to the front and back abutment teeth to restore a missing tooth. A bridge is like a bridge seen in everyday life, requiring two abutments at each end and a bridge deck in the middle to restore the missing tooth to its position. It is fixed to two healthy natural teeth in the front and back, which are used to support the missing tooth and with which the chewing power is restored. There are different types of crown and bridge restorations, including double-ended fixed bridges, single-ended fixed bridges, and composite fixed bridges, with double-ended fixed bridges being the most commonly used in clinical practice. Double-ended fixed bridges have one abutment in front and one in back as a retainer; single-ended fixed bridges have a retainer at one end only; and composite fixed bridges are a combination of double-ended fixed bridges and single-ended fixed bridges. When choosing to use single-ended fixed bridge, because there is only one abutment, so the requirements for abutment teeth are relatively high, now rarely used, clinical should be strictly selected for indications.
