It can cause emotional apathy, memory loss, dementia and other mental symptoms, neck resistance, aphasia, hemiplegia, epilepsy, cranial nerve palsy and other psychiatric symptoms; spinal vascular syphilis can have neurogenic pain, paralysis, and weakness of the lower limbs and other symptoms.
