Difference between bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines

Bivalent and quadrivalent vaccines refer to cervical cancer vaccines, and the difference between the two is that the composition and efficacy and price are different. 1. Composition and efficacy: bivalent cervical cancer vaccine is mainly to prevent cervical cancer and precancerous lesions caused by human papillomavirus HPV types 16 and 18, while quadrivalent cervical cancer vaccine not only prevents HPV types 16 and 18, but also includes the ability to prevent HPV type 6 and type 11 infections. 2. Price: the domestic bivalent cervical cancer vaccine price is about 360 yuan, imported may be slightly more expensive, at about 600 yuan; imported quadrivalent cervical cancer vaccine is about 800 yuan. However, the appropriate age for both bivalent and quadrivalent cervical cancer vaccines is 9 to 45 years old. Note that women who are allergic to any of the ingredients in the vaccine, or who are severely allergic to yeast should not be vaccinated; pregnant and breastfeeding women need to be careful with the vaccine according to their doctor’s instructions. Vaccination cannot prevent all diseases caused by HPV infection, so regular cervical cancer screening is still needed after vaccination.
