ESR is the abbreviation of erythrocyte sedimentation rate, and the normal value of ESR is 0-15mm/h for adult males and 0-20mm/h for adult females. The blood sedimentation may increase significantly, sometimes reaching the level of 100 mm/h. In addition, in active rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and dry syndrome, the blood sedimentation may also increase significantly. Also, some tumor patients may have a significantly faster blood sedimentation. Therefore, accelerated sedimentation is not specific, but indicates a pathological state, and careful differentiation of the causes of increased sedimentation is needed.
