What does lupus nephritis membranous type V mean?

Lupus nephritis membranous type V refers to membranous lupus nephritis, which can occur in combination with pathologic types III or IV, or with end-stage sclerosing lupus nephritis. There are six types of lupus nephritis pathology. Type V refers to membranous lupus nephritis, and its pathological changes are mainly diffuse thickening of glomerular capillary basement membrane, which may appear nail-like changes in the late stage, and may be accompanied by proliferation of tethered cells and extracellular matrix, which is an important feature of membranous lupus nephritis nephropathy. The clinical symptoms of membranous lupus nephritis mainly include proteinuria, hematuria, hypertension, renal function abnormalities and so on. The treatment of membranous lupus nephritis applies glucocorticoid (prednisone acetate) and immunosuppressant (cyclophosphamide, merti-macrolide) according to the patient’s daily manifestations; if there is only simple proteinuria that needs to be treated for proteinuria and blood pressure lowering, clinically commonly used renin-angiotensin-aldosterone receptor antagonist (e.g., valacyclovir, Benadryl, etc.). Membranous lupus nephritis patients need to go to the regular hospital in time for examination and treatment, so as not to delay the condition.
