The 3 main aspects of asthma control

Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases, and there are about 30 million asthma patients in China, seriously endangering the health of the general public. However, the majority of asthma patients can achieve good control of their disease and prevent the harm caused by acute asthma attacks through knowledge of asthma and scientific standardized treatment in accordance with the treatment guidelines recommended by the World Health Organization and the Chinese Medical Association. Most asthma is caused by allergic factors, therefore, patients with a history of allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis often have a combination of asthma symptoms. Such patients can identify the cause as early as possible through allergen skin testing or serological testing and take certain avoidance measures to prevent the occurrence of asthma. At the same time, infection, air pollution, climate change, exercise, certain foods and drugs and some psychosocial factors are also the main factors triggering acute attacks of asthma, which should also be paid attention to, and in some patients with asthma can be treated etiologically through immunotherapy with specific allergens. 2.Actively diagnose and treat, and follow up on time As one of the chronic airway inflammatory diseases, the key to treatment lies in the standardized individualized prevention and treatment during the stable period, so as to avoid acute exacerbation of asthma. Therefore, patients with definite bronchial asthma should not only seek medical treatment during the acute exacerbation period but neglect the more important treatment during the stable period, or simply use bronchodilators to control the disease, thus causing gradual aggravation of the disease and gradual deterioration of lung function. According to the guidelines for standardized asthma prevention and treatment, patients with asthma should be evaluated according to the symptoms of the stable phase, and lung function tests should be performed to grade the treatment, and individualized causal treatment with inhaled glucocorticoids should be carried out, and the condition should be evaluated every 3-6 months to adjust the medication. Patients are recommended to record their daily condition and monitor lung function in the form of diary cards. The main danger of asthma is that long-term recurrent attacks lead to progressive damage of lung function, and severe attacks can be life-threatening. Every year, as many as 180,000 people die from acute asthma attacks worldwide, with the majority of them being young adults. Acute asthma attacks can also lead to complications such as pneumothorax, respiratory failure, cardiac arrhythmias and shock. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the signs of an acute asthma attack, and patients with a history of asthma should seek medical attention as soon as they experience chest tightness and increased wheezing, not to take it lightly and delay treatment. Therefore, although the danger of asthma is great, the chronic disease can be prevented and treated as long as the above major aspects of asthma prevention and treatment are paid attention to. Asthma patients should correctly understand the nature of the disease – chronic inflammation of the airways, actively cooperate with doctors, correctly monitor the condition, reasonably use medication, and adhere to long-term standardized treatment, asthma can be fully controlled.
