What’s wrong with one eyelid?

Patients with one eyelid drooping may be caused by eye trauma, ptosis, myasthenia gravis and other reasons.
1. Trauma: When the patient’s eye is traumatized by external violence, it may lead to injury of the levator muscle and damage to the nerves of the eye, which may cause the muscle to be incapable of lifting the eyelid, thus causing the patient to have a drooping eyelid on one side.
2. Ptosis: Ptosis is a kind of eyelid disease caused by congenital developmental abnormality or acquired disease, patients may have drooping upper eyelid position, tilting the head to see things and so on, so patients with one eyelid drooping may be caused by ptosis.
3. Myasthenia gravis: Myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease, which is mainly manifested as drooping eyelids, blurred vision, difficulty in swallowing, neck weakness and other symptoms, and one eyelid ptosis may also be caused by myasthenia gravis.
