How to stage granulomatous mastitis

Granulomatous mastitis is a specific type of mastitis that differs from acute suppurative mastitis during lactation. Granulomatous mastitis is generally divided into the lump stage, abscess stage, and recovery stage. 1. Lumpy stage: Granulomatous mastitis is a type of mastitis characterized by chronic granulomas, which have a long duration and are red and swollen in the lumpy stage. 2. Abscess stage: After the lump stage, the abscess stage is reached. In the abscess stage, the pain is very severe. The patient’s temperature is mostly below 38°C, and some patients develop high fever and ulcers. 3. Recovery phase: Mastitis may develop during the recovery period and symptoms need to improve as soon as possible. If granulomatous mastitis is present, it can be treated with antibiotics. However, if the condition is severe, surgery may be needed to relieve the condition. After surgery, personal care should be taken to avoid further bacterial infections.
