Oral lip dark spots, also known as perioral hyperpigmentation intestinal polyp syndrome, mainly present as hyperpigmented spots in and around the oral mucosa and multiple polyps occurring in the intestinal tract. The dark spots on the mouth and lips usually appear at birth, but some patients appear in early childhood and occasionally in adulthood. The dark spots are mainly distributed in the oral mucosa and the surrounding skin, but also commonly found at the ends of the fingers (toes) and the dorsum of the hands and feet, with brownish-black or black spots, the size of a pinhead or a green bean, round, oval or irregular in shape, densely packed together but not fused, and with sharp boundaries with the surrounding skin. The number of black spots varies, some are only a dozen or dozens, and some are uncountable. Dark spots on the mouth and lips often persist and become lighter in childhood and darker in adulthood. Treatment of dark spots on the mouth and lips: Laser treatment is the most ideal for the treatment of dark spots on the mouth and lips. Most of the dark spots will disappear completely after one laser treatment, and a few of them can be completely removed after 2-3 laser treatments. It rarely recurs after healing.
