Bactrim Ointment, known generically as Mupirocin Ointment, is used clinically to treat skin infections caused by gram-positive cocci. Mupirocin Ointment is a topical topical antibiotic that is commonly used in the treatment of skin infections caused by gram-positive cocci, such as boils, impetigo, folliculitis, and other primary skin infections. In addition, mupirocin ointment can also be used to treat some secondary skin infections such as eczema co-infections, ulcer co-infections, trauma co-infections and so on. Generally there are no adverse reactions to topical use of mupirocin ointment, occasionally local burning sensation, stinging sensation, itching and other symptoms, usually do not need to stop the drug. However, mupirocin ointment should be contraindicated in patients who are allergic to mupirocin or to ointments containing polyethylene glycol. Drug interactions can occur when mupirocin ointment is used concurrently with other medications. If a skin infection occurs, it should be seen promptly.
