Strabismus self-correction training method

The self-corrective training method is suitable for mild strabismus, but for more serious strabismus, the self-corrective training method alone is not enough to correct strabismus, which requires the use of glasses and surgery. Strabismus is a disease of the extraocular muscles in which both eyes cannot look at the target at the same time, and can be divided into two categories: common strabismus and paralytic strabismus. Common strabismus is characterized by no eye movement disorder and the same degree of strabismus in the first eye position (looking straight ahead) and the second eye position (looking up, looking down, looking left, looking right); paralytic strabismus, on the other hand, has limited eye movement and diplopia, which can be congenital or caused by trauma or systemic diseases. According to the direction of the abnormal eye position, it is roughly divided into: horizontal strabismus (internal strabismus, external strabismus) and vertical strabismus. There are several methods of self-training for strabismus: (1) Binocular gaze training: stare at the target at different distances and orientations and concentrate on it, and artificially gaze at the same point with the left and right eyes to practice the ability of simultaneous binocular vision. (2) Monocular masking: cover the healthy eye and look only with the affected eye, repeatedly train for a period of time, which is more beneficial for correcting strabismus. (3) Do more ball games: such as table tennis, badminton, tennis, etc. Therefore, self-corrective training methods can be used for mild strabismus and are valuable to persist.
