The difference between thyroid cysts and thyroid nodules can be analyzed by ultrasonographic findings, nature of the disease and treatment.
1. Ultrasonographic findings: both receive different ultrasonographic image descriptions. Thyroid cysts are generally cystic echogenicity of the thyroid gland; thyroid nodules are generally isoechoic, hypoechoic and hyperechoic image manifestations.
2. Nature of the disease: thyroid cysts are generally benign lesions, malignant lesions are rare; thyroid nodules are mostly benign nodules, but there are also some malignant nodules.
3. Treatment: most of the thyroid cysts are benign lesions, without obvious clinical symptoms, not accompanied by pressure, generally do not need special treatment, only need to regularly review the thyroid ultrasound; thyroid nodules need to receive puncture biopsy to clarify the nature of the nodule, benign nodules need to be regularly reviewed; malignant nodules need surgery and other treatments.
In addition, both thyroid cysts and thyroid nodules are harmful to a certain extent, so it is recommended that patients improve their examinations as soon as possible so that specialists can determine whether treatment is needed.
