Difference between lobular hyperplasia and breast cancer

The difference between lobular hyperplasia and breast cancer is specifically reflected in the following aspects: first, the clinical symptoms are different, lobular hyperplasia usually means that patients feel swelling and pain in the breast, especially during menstruation when pain or needle-like sensation occurs, which will disappear after menstruation. There are diffuse thickening changes in the breast by touching, while breast cancer patients are asymptomatic and painless in the early stage, and by touching, they will find swelling, bad mobility, and even nipple overflow, blood overflow and other symptoms, which are not related to menstrual cycle. Secondly, the pathological changes are different. In lobular hyperplasia of breast, the cut surface of the swelling is usually gray, solid and tough, while the cut surface of the swelling of breast cancer is gray, solid and hard, with unclear boundary with the surrounding area, the center is concave, and even there is the presence of acne-like material. Thirdly, the nature and etiology of lesions are different. Breast lobular hyperplasia is a benign lesion, which is related to inflammation or menstrual cycle, while breast cancer is a malignant neoplastic disease, which is related to heredity, endocrine dysfunction, X-rays, diet, and many other factors. Therefore, it is recommended that female patients should have regular breast ultrasound or molybdenum target examination, and puncture biopsy if necessary, for early detection and treatment.
