Where to go for cough

A cough can be referred to the Department of Respiratory Medicine because it is a common cause of a respiratory condition caused by infection or external irritation of the bronchial tubes or tracheal tissues. However, cough symptoms can occur in many types of diseases, such as tuberculosis, oncology, and otolaryngology. If the cough is caused by an infection, anti-infective treatment and other treatment modalities may be used in combination with the patient’s actual symptoms. If the cause of the cough is not clear, patients with cough can first visit the respiratory medicine department for more detailed tests, such as routine blood tests, sputum culture tests, and X-ray chest examinations, to identify the cause of the cough and then seek appropriate medical treatment.
