How to treat non-cirrhotic portal hypertension

Non-cirrhotic portal hypertension is commonly caused by congenital malformation of portal vein, infection such as cholecystitis, severe left heart failure, etc. The treatment includes medication to stop bleeding, portal vein shunt, endoscopic treatment and so on. 1. Drug treatment: such as growth inhibitor, vasopressin, etc. to inhibit bleeding and reduce the pressure of portal vein vessels. 2. Portal shunt: intrahepatic portosystemic shunt via jugular vein to divert venous blood and reduce portal pressure. 3. Endoscopic treatment: use endoscopic treatment to give injection of sclerosing agent and lancing to the veins with ruptured bleeding in order to carry out emergency bleeding and prevent re-bleeding. Portal hypertension not caused by liver cirrhosis will be dangerous if bleeding from esophagogastric fundus vein occurs, it should be treated in time under the doctor’s proper guidance, and should not be used blindly on its own.
