Estradiol valerate can be used during preparation for pregnancy, but it must be discontinued before deciding to start a pregnancy and until the end of lactation. Estradiol valerate is a natural semi-synthetic estrogen composed of a single preparation. During the preparation for pregnancy, the thin thickness of the uterine lining interferes with implantation, so clinicians may choose to take oral estradiol valerate tablets to proliferate the uterine lining, which is conducive to implantation. Therefore, it is possible to take estradiol valerate tablets during pregnancy preparation, but the medication must be discontinued before deciding to start a pregnancy. Some studies have shown that there is no increased risk of birth defects in newborns with the use of estradiol valerate before pregnancy, and there is no teratogenic effect of accidental administration of these drugs in early pregnancy. Therefore, termination of pregnancy is not necessary after accidental oral administration of this drug after pregnancy and regular monitoring is required. Estradiol valerate is contraindicated in children, adolescents, pregnancy, lactation, unexplained vaginal bleeding, suspected or confirmed breast cancer, severe liver injury, acute arterial thromboembolism, the presence of risk factors for thrombosis, severe hypertriglyceridemia, and drug hypersensitivity.
