The whole process of scoliosis surgery is to make a longitudinal incision in the spinal area to expose the spine and take a nail and rod system to fix and correct the scoliosis according to the scoliosis condition.
Before the scoliosis surgery, a surgical plan is made based on the results of X-ray or CT 3D reconstruction of the spine. During the surgery, the patient lies on the surgical bed and is sterilized with iodine-vodine-alcohol, and a sterile surgical sheet is spread over the surgical site.
Firstly, the midpoint of the scoliotic spine was localized, the incision was extended to both sides, the muscles were separated to expose the articular synovial joints, and the direction and degree of scoliosis were observed by C-arm X-ray fluoroscopy, and osteotomy and orthopaedic fixation or nail rod fixation system was adopted to adjust the direction of the nail rod. If the normal curvature of the spine is restored by fluoroscopy, the skin incision is closed.
Scoliosis surgery is a relatively large operation, it is recommended to consult the spine surgery department of a tertiary hospital for treatment, and the recovery situation should be determined according to the patient’s individual physical condition.
