Can rickets square cranium be recovered

Whether or not the square skull of a rickets patient can be recovered needs to be determined by the extent of the patient’s condition. There is a chance of recovery in mild cases; recovery is more difficult in severe cases. Square skull is a common complication of rickets, which means that the child’s skull is bulging outward with the frontal and parietal centers, forming a square box-shaped head. In general, mild cases of rickets can be relieved with timely treatment, including adequate vitamin D and calcium supplements such as calcium gluconate, gentle massage to reshape the child’s head, and appropriate outdoor exercise. Medications should be used as prescribed. However, if the patient is diagnosed late and the cranium has developed significant deformities, recovery is more difficult. It is recommended that patients with rickets be treated as soon as the diagnosis of rickets is confirmed in order to optimize the prognosis.
