The normal value for the size of a 9-year-old girl’s uterus is about 2-3 cm, so that it is equivalent to 1/3 the size of an adult woman’s uterus, which is about 7-8 cm long, 4-5 cm wide, 2-3 cm thick, with a volume of about 5 mL and a weight of about 50-70 g. It is an inverted pear shape that is slightly flattened from front to back. The upper part of the uterus is wider and we call it the uterine body, while the lower part of the uterus is narrower and cylindrical and we call it the cervix. The ratio of the uterine body to the cervix changes depending on age and ovarian function, and the ratio is 1:2 in women around 9 years of age, 2:1 in women of childbearing age, and 1:1 after menopause.
