The Chinese Pharmacopoeia stipulates that the dosage of red ginseng for decoction is 3~9g, and the exact dosage is decided by the doctor according to the individual’s physique and condition. Red ginseng has the basic effects of tonifying vital energy (replenishing the root energy of the body), restoring the pulse and stabilizing deficiencies (restoring the normal pulse and preventing substances from coming out), tranquilizing the mind and promoting intellectual development, tonifying the spleen and benefiting the lungs (replenishing the spleen and lungs), and generating fluid and nourishing the blood (replenishing the body’s fluids and blood).
