It is used in treating chest paralysis (stuffy pain in the chest), cardiac pain, dystocia (pain in the abdomen), obstruction in the abdomen (tangible or intangible lumps in the abdomen with distension and pain), insomnia, irregular menstruation, menstrual cramps, sores and swelling and pain.
Note: Salvia miltiorrhiza should not be used in combination with veratrum; caution should be exercised in cases of excessive menstruation and pregnant women.
