What is heel strike?

The possible causes of heel valgus include cerebral palsy, diabetes mellitus, acute septic arthritis, and tumors.
1. Cerebral palsy: Cerebral palsy is a disease of neuromuscular origin, which can cause changes in limb muscle strength, and over time, the joint deformity gradually becomes fixed deformity, which manifests itself as symptoms such as heel valgus.
2. Diabetes mellitus: some metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus can lead to vascular neuropathy, such as motor nerve damage, which can affect the muscles of the foot, leading to atrophy, and ultimately cause heel valgus.
3. Acute septic arthritis: Infectious diseases such as acute septic arthritis can destroy the joint structure, and in the late stage, it can be manifested as inversion or eversion deformity of joints, and heel valgus is one of them.
4. Tumor: the growth of tumor such as osteosarcoma or bone metastatic tumor can cause some degree of destruction to the bone, resulting in abnormal joint structure, manifested as heel valgus and other symptoms.
There may be other reasons for heel valgus, so it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
