Back acne can be caused by conditions such as folliculitis, acne, boils, etc. Symptomatic treatment is required and involves treatments such as general treatment, use of medications (fusidic acid cream, etc.), and other treatments.
1. Folliculitis: This is characterized by scattered red pimples on the back, which are painful and topped with white dots. It can be treated by applying antibiotic drugs such as mupirocin ointment and erythromycin ointment.
2. Acne: Pimples, pustules or cysts may appear on the skin. Medications such as benzoyl peroxide gel, adapalene gel, and retinoic acid cream can be applied to the acne area, and oral isotretinoin or viamin, minocycline capsules can be taken. If the acne has formed cysts, incision and drainage treatment can also be carried out.
3. Boils: Small bumps will appear, which are red, swollen, painful and hard to the touch. Patients with mild acne can apply medication such as ichthyol ointment, and if necessary, the boil can be removed through surgery.
It is recommended that patients with acne on the back go to a dermatologist to clarify the cause of the condition and strictly follow the doctor’s instructions for medication.
