Combining Jinlingzi and Yanhuisuo means Jinlingzi San, which is effective in promoting qi, dredging the liver, diarrhea and heat, activating blood circulation and relieving pain; it can be used for treating liver depression and qi stagnation with pain in dibbs and ribs, or various kinds of pains in the stomach and intestines with blood stasis and qi stagnation. The combination of Jinlingzi and Yanhuisuo is a component of the traditional Chinese medicine formula Jinlingzi San. Jinlingzi San has the effects of promoting qi, dredging the liver and draining heat, activating blood circulation and relieving pain. Jinlingzi San can be used to treat liver depression with heat, manifesting as various pains in the heart, abdomen, coarseness and ribs, with pains occurring and stopping; it can also treat various pains caused by stagnation of qi and blood in the areas where the liver vein travels, such as hernia pains, menstrual cramps, gallbladder, stomach and epigastric pains (pains occurring in the area of the stomach close to the heart’s socket), etc. It is contraindicated for people who are weak and cold. It should not be used by those who are physically weak and cold, and should be used with caution during menstruation and in pregnant women. Chinese medicines should be used under the supervision of a physician, and should not be used in any combination to avoid the adverse effects caused by incorrect medicines.
