The common clinical causes of erythema on the lips of infants include eczema, nevus with dilated capillaries, herpes virus infection, and so on.
1. Eczema: usually associated with abnormal immune function, food allergy and so on. In the acute stage of eczema, there are erythema, papules or blisters, etc. In the chronic stage, the main manifestations are roughness and hypertrophy of the affected area, and mossy changes, etc.
2. Nevus with dilated capillaries: it appears in the newborn or soon after birth, mostly in the face, neck and scalp, etc. It is usually caused by the malformation or proliferation of capillaries in the skin or mucous membrane surface layer.
3. Herpes virus infection: a kind of disease which is mainly caused by skin and mucous membrane changes due to human herpes virus infection, with clinical manifestations of blisters and erythema on the surface of the skin or mucous membrane in a single or clustered distribution, and accompanied by fever, pain, lymph node enlargement, etc. If a newborn baby has erythema on the lips, it is often seen at the time of birth or shortly after birth.
