What to do in the first stages of gout

Gout is mainly treated by non-pharmacological treatments such as limiting purine intake and pharmacological treatments such as colchicine and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the early stage of gout.
1. Non-pharmacological treatment: gout patients need to limit alcohol, prohibit smoking, drink a lot of water, reduce the intake of high-purine foods, reduce the intake of fructose-rich beverages, control body weight, regular exercise and so on.
2. Pharmacological treatment: Colchicine, indomethacin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used to alleviate the symptoms of gouty joint swelling and pain during the attack period. In addition, it should be noted that generally do not use such as benzbromarone, febuxostat and other uric acid-lowering drugs in the acute attack period, so as to avoid the fluctuation of blood uric acid and aggravate the condition.
It is recommended that patients with gout in the early stages of gout go to the rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals in a timely manner and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of doctors. Drugs should be used in accordance with the doctor’s instructions, do not self-medication.
