The normal adult axillary temperature is 36-37°C. The human body temperature changes throughout the day, with the lowest body temperature at 2-6 am and the highest at 2-8 pm, and the fluctuation range of body temperature does not exceed 1°C during the day. Human body temperature fluctuates normally with age, gender, emotion and many other factors. Newborns have imperfect thermoregulatory functions and their body temperature is easily affected by environmental temperature, so if the body temperature is 37℃, there are no other symptoms and no temperature rise, it can be suspended. Children have a high metabolic rate and their body temperature can be higher than that of adults, while older people have a low basal metabolic rate and their body temperature can be in the low end of the normal range. Women have a slightly higher body temperature than men, and factors such as exercise, hot baths, eating, and mental stress can cause a transient increase in body temperature, while quiet rest, hunger, or after taking sedative drugs can cause the body temperature to drop.
