Hysteroscopy is a surgical operation in gynecology in which the uterine cavity is dilated with a dilating medium and the physiological and pathological changes in the cervical canal, the endocervix, the endometrium and the opening of the fallopian tubes are observed by direct vision through a light-guided glass fiber speculum inserted into the uterine cavity. In order to target the diseased tissues, the material is taken visually and accurately and sent for pathological examination, while surgical treatment can also be performed directly under the hysteroscope. For abnormal uterine bleeding, suspected uterine adhesions or malformations, abnormal uterine echogenicity or occupying lesions on ultrasonography, ectopic IUDs, unexplained infertility, abnormal hysterosalpingograms, as well as recurrent miscarriages, endometrial polyps, and submucosal fibroids, a clear diagnosis can be made by hysteroscopy.
