Is the HPV test an internal test?

HPV testing is not an internal test, as HPV is brushing the cervix and cervical surface cells, which requires dilation of the vagina with a dilator to expose the cervix, and cell analysis can be performed by brushing the cells with a small brush dedicated to HPV. HPV sampling can also be performed under colposcopy for better results. The internal exam is just a pressure on the abdomen and the finger enters the vagina to determine if there is painful lifting of the cervix and if there are signs of pelvic inflammatory disease. When testing for HPV, it is important not to have intercourse or wash the vagina for 3 days to avoid damaging the exfoliated cells of the cervix and causing inaccurate HPV sampling. There will be a small amount of bleeding after the test, which will usually end in 3-5 days and will not affect your health.
