Conservative treatment for children with adenoid hypertrophy

In children with adenoid hypertrophy, conservative treatment is mainly based on nasal sprays and oral eating of pro-discharge agents. For children aged 3-5 years, the intranasal spray Nesuna nasal spray is recommended; for children aged 5 years or older, Renolcort nasal spray can be recommended; for children aged 7 years or older, Cochlear nasal spray can be used. The nasal spray is to relieve the swelling of the nasal mucosa and at the same time can make the glands act as a shrinkage. Oral pro-discharge agents are to help the glands to atrophy while nasal secretions can be discharged effectively and faster to avoid accumulation in the nasopharynx and aggravation of adenoid hypertrophy. For children, mucus promoters are recommended to be taken orally, while children over 12 years old can take eucalyptus pinane orally. However, conservative treatment is generally recommended for half a month to one month, and if conservative treatment still relieves very well, surgical removal is still recommended.
