For intramuscular injections, the site often chosen is the gluteus maximus muscle. Because the gluteus maximus muscle is more developed, this area is chosen for intramuscular injection. It can reduce the risk of intramuscular injection in other areas and can avoid damage to local nerves and blood vessels. The main operation process of intramuscular injection is as follows: i. Select the appropriate site for intramuscular injection. II. Intramuscular injection is performed in concentric circles, and the disinfection range must be 5 cm beyond the injection site. Sterilize the patient’s fingers and use a sterile syringe to extract the drug. Aim the needle at the remembered site quickly and then draw back. If there is no blood that will flow back, it is recommended that the medication be pushed directly into the local muscle. Quickly pull out the needle and inspect it for breakage. Simultaneous pressure on the wound using a dry cotton ball can be effective in relieving pain.
