The simple method of locating the Huanjiu acupoint is to let the person lie on his/her side, with the leg underneath, i.e. close to the bed surface, straightened, and the leg above flexed, and touching the highest point of the greater trochanter of the femur, and then taking the acupoint at the intersection of the outer 1/3 and the middle 1/3 of the line connecting to the sacral cleft hole.
Huanjiu is located on the foot Shaoyang bile meridian, which is the meeting point of the foot solar meridian and the foot Shaoyang meridian. It can be used for treating paraplegia, lower limb impotence paralysis, lumbar and leg pains and other diseases in the area of tendon circulation, as well as for treating skin diseases such as rubella.
The muscles at the Huanjiu acupoint are abundant, so it can be stimulated in a straight way, or the stimulation can be strengthened depending on the patient’s tolerance level, and it is appropriate to radiate to the feet.
