The treatment of ulcerative colitis mainly includes basic treatment such as diet, medication such as mesalazine, and surgical treatment such as intestinal resection anastomosis.
1. Basic treatment: give easy-to-digest and nutritious diets, and patients with malnutrition and serious conditions can have intravenous nutritional supplements. Probiotics such as Saccharomyces boulardii and Lactobacillus acidophilus can be used to regulate the intestinal flora, antidiarrheal drugs such as montelukast can be used to treat diarrhea, and antispasmodic drugs such as scopolamine can be used to relieve pain.
2. Pharmacotherapy.
(1) Aminosalicylic acid preparations: such as mesalazine, salazosulfapyridine, etc., can inhibit the formation of inflammatory mediators, which is the basic drug for the treatment of ulcerative colitis.
(2) Glucocorticosteroids, such as ketorolac tromethamine, methylprednisolone, etc., which are effective mainly through non-specific anti-inflammatory and immune response inhibition, and are usually used as short-term shock therapy for ulcerative colitis.
(3) Immunosuppressants: such as azathioprine, mainly used for maintenance therapy after disease remission, for 5-aminosalicylic acid treatment of inflammatory bowel disease is ineffective, hormone dependence, or hormone therapy is ineffective in patients with ulcerative colitis.
