Thick white sputum is lung heat or lung cold

White phlegm is generally a manifestation of phlegm-dampness in the lungs, not lung heat or cold. Phlegm is a pathological product formed by the impaired metabolism of fluids, and is a pathological mucus discharged from the lungs and airways. Phlegm is white in color, sticky and thick, belonging to the evidence of phlegm-dampness embedded in the lungs. It is caused by spleen dampness generating phlegm and impregnating the lungs. It is also accompanied by coughing due to phlegm, coughing slowly when phlegm is discharged, and coughing with a heavy sound. The treatment should be drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm from the body with drugs that dry dampness). Yellow phlegm is thick and sticky, mostly belonging to the lung heat, because of the evil heat against the lungs, frying and burning the fluid as phlegm, phlegm gathered in the lungs caused. If the phlegm is white and thin, it belongs to the lungs cold, because the cold evil obstructs the lungs, the fluid condenses and does not dissolve, and the phlegm gathers in the lungs. If you are coughing up phlegm and other symptoms, it is recommended that you go to a regular hospital and receive standardized treatment under the guidance of a professional physician, so as not to delay your condition.
