Drugs for tuberculosis

As a global infectious disease of the respiratory system, tuberculosis has become more and more standardized, and the World Health Organization has identified the following four drugs as the standard regimen for tuberculosis treatment, including isoniazid, rifampicin, pyrazinamide, and ethambutol. For most patients, the cure rate can be as high as 80% or more as long as they strictly follow the doctor’s instructions and take the medication early, in combination, in the right amount, regularly, and throughout the entire course. Some new strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis have been shown to be resistant to some drugs, and drug resistance mainly comes from irregular or insufficient treatment, and stopping the drug at will will lead to relapse, these behaviors are the reasons for the emergence of drug-resistant tuberculosis as well as the relapse of tuberculosis.
