If the tick is still on the surface of the wound after being bitten by a tick, it cannot be removed immediately with tools or by hand, as it may easily penetrate deeper into the soft tissues. If you are able to do so, you should go to the hospital immediately. The doctor will anesthetize the tick by applying anesthetic near the wound and then remove the tick. Alternatively, you can rub gasoline or turpentine or other chemical substances on the tick or around the wound to anesthetize it, and then remove it slowly. After removing the tick, disinfect the wound with hydrogen peroxide, saline and iodine povidone, and then inject tetanus toxin and apply antibiotics and antiviral medications for symptomatic treatment. The condition must be closely observed to see if there is any fever, if fever occurs, give antipyretic drugs for symptomatic treatment.
