The common causes of calf pain after running include accumulation of local lactic acid, sports injury, osteochondritis dissecans of tibia and so on.
1. Local lactic acid accumulation: running too fast, too much exercise, or no exercise for a long time may cause the accumulation of lactic acid in the muscle tissues of the calf area after running, thus producing pain.
2. Sports injuries: strains in the calf muscles caused by various reasons during sports, or chronic injuries in the calf caused by long-term sports, can cause pain in the calf after sports.
3. Osteochondritis Dissecans of the tibia: When there is inflammation of the periosteum of the tibia, calf pain will occur after exercise.
