Causes of lung nodules in women

Women have lung nodules for a variety of reasons, including environmental factors (including silicosis), certain diseases such as pulmonary nodular disease, lung infections, and lung tumors that cause them. Lung nodules in women are usually detected by CT examination of the lungs and can be single or multiple, with a variety of causes. 1. Environmental factors: If you are in an environment containing harmful substances for a long time, such as asbestos and vinyl chloride, the long-term inhalation of these substances by the organism will cause harm to the lungs, causing inflammation as well as immune reactions in the lungs, which will lead to the formation of lung nodules. Silicosis is caused by long-term inhalation of dust with high free silica content. Chest images of patients with simple silicosis show diffuse high-density nodular shadows in both lungs, which are obvious in both upper lungs; chest images of patients with complex silicosis show fibrotic mass shadows in both lungs compressing the segmental bronchioles, resulting in airway restriction. 2. Certain diseases (1) Pulmonary nodular disease: 90% of patients have abnormal X-ray chest films; chest HRCT (high-resolution CT) shows tiny nodules distributed along the bronchovascular bundles, which can be fused into a ball. (2) Lung infections: e.g., bacterial, viral, and fungal infections, such as inflammation of the lungs and tuberculosis, and localized mechanized imaging will also show lung nodules. (3) Lung tumors: benign and malignant, tumors early manifestations of small nodular changes, with the progression of the disease, nodular tumors will gradually increase in size, the density and size of the nodules will also be progressive changes, need to be in the hospital for pathological biopsy to further clarify the cause of the disease, and to carry out regular treatment. It is recommended to consult a doctor to identify the cause of the disease and carry out targeted treatment.
