Five-year survival rate for stage 2a esophageal cancer

The 5-year survival rate of esophageal cancer stage 2a after receiving radical surgery can be more than 50%.
Esophageal cancer is divided into four different periods, namely, I, II, III and IV, according to the size of tumor, lymphatic metastasis and distal metastasis. Stage 2a belongs to the intermediate stage, in which the lesion infringes the intrinsic muscular layer or the fibrous membrane, but there is no lymph node metastasis, so the main treatment is still based on surgical treatment, and at the same time, with the cooperation of radiotherapy and chemotherapy, the five-year survival rate can be more than 50%.
However, the specific survival time of esophageal cancer 2a is still related to the pathological type and treatment plan, the lower the malignant degree is, the higher the survival rate is, on the contrary, if the malignant degree is high, the survival rate will be lower.
In addition, the sensitivity and effect of the treatment for each patient will also have an impact on the survival rate.
