Moxifloxacin action and efficacy dosage

The generic name of the drug Moxifloxacin is Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride Tablets, which has a broad-spectrum antibacterial effect. The dosage of the drug is 0.4g orally every 24 hours and the duration of treatment depends on the type of infection. Moxifloxacin is an 8-methoxy fluoroquinolone antimicrobial agent with broad-spectrum activity and bactericidal action against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, anaerobic, acid-resistant and atypical microorganisms such as Mycoplasma, Chlamydia and Legionella. Continuous medication is required for 10 days for the treatment of acute bacterial sinusitis; 5 days for acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis; 7 to 14 days for community-acquired pneumonia; 7 days for uncomplicated skin and skin tissue infections; 7 to 21 days for complicated skin and skin tissue infections; 5 to 14 days for complicated intra-abdominal infections; 10 to 14 days for bubonic plague; and 14 days for mild-to-moderate pelvic inflammatory disease . The drug may cause adverse reactions such as tendinopathy and tendon rupture, prolongation of the QT interval, allergic reactions, Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea, peripheral neuropathy, fluctuations in blood glucose, photosensitivity or phototoxicity, and the formation of drug-resistant bacteria. When using the drug, it should be noted that it is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin, other quinolones or any excipients, pregnant and breastfeeding women, women under 18 years of age, history of tendon disorders associated with quinolone therapy, prolongation of the QT interval, electrolyte disorders, bradycardia, heart failure with a reduced ejection fraction of the left ventricle, cardiac arrhythmias. The drug needs to be used under the supervision of a doctor.
