What to do if a child is allergic to montelukast sodium granules

Children with allergy to montelukast sodium granules are advised to stop using the drug and to visit the hospital promptly. Montelukast Sodium is mainly used for the treatment and prevention of asthma in children over the age of 1 year, asthma with sensitivity to aspirin, as well as to reduce the symptoms of allergic rhinitis (seasonal allergic rhinitis and perennial allergic rhinitis in children aged 2 to 5 years). In general, adverse reactions are minor, such as diarrhea, hyperkinesia, and upper respiratory tract infections. If a child develops an allergic reaction after using Montelukast Sodium Granules, the use of the drug should be discontinued and a prompt visit to the hospital should be made and a change to another drug, such as loratadine, should be considered under the supervision of the doctor. Do not self-select other drugs. If the allergic reaction is serious, should go to the hospital immediately for treatment.
