Five major causes of anal itching

Anal pruritus can be divided into primary and secondary. Primary or unexplained pruritus is often not easily treated. Secondary itching has obvious causative factors, and can be cured with proper treatment after eliminating the causes. The main causes of anal itching are as follows: 1, anorectal diseases: such as anal fissure, anal fistula, hemorrhoids, anal sinusitis, anal papillitis, rectal prolapse, anal incontinence, etc., so that the anal opening secretions increase, moist stimulation of the skin caused by itching. 2, parasitic diseases: such as meconium, roundworms, vaginal trichomonas, pubic lice, scabies, etc., can cause anal itching. 3, anal skin diseases: such as anal eczema, neurodermatitis, ringworm, various warts, venereal disease, sweat glanditis, etc., feces attached to the anal folds, stimulating the skin and causing itching. 4, allergic reactions: consumption of irritating food, such as chili, mustard, spices, wine or idiosyncratic protein food, but also taking certain drugs, such as sulfonamide antibiotics can cause anal itching due to allergies. 5, mental factors: neurasthenia, hysteria, excessive mental tension, excitement, excitement and other causes of neurological disorders, can also trigger or cause itching, can be generalized to the whole body or the anus, perineal area. At the beginning of anal itching, it is limited to itching of the skin around the anus, sometimes light and sometimes heavy, sometimes stinging or burning, sometimes like insects walking, sometimes intolerable itching, more so at night, making people restless. The itching causes skin ulceration, oozing, crusting, and long-term failure to heal, resulting in thickening of the perianal skin, thickening and roughness of the wrinkled wall with radial folds, mossy changes, pigmentation or loss of pigmentation, and spreading to the perineum, scrotum, scrotum/lips, or sacro-caudal area. Long-term pruritus, the patient is distressed, and over time it can cause neurasthenia, mental depression, loss of appetite, and sleepless nights. Secondary itching is usually cured after treatment of the primary disease, but the primary treatment period is longer and easy to recur, usually need to pay attention to hygiene, diligent change of underwear, local washing or sitz bath, try to avoid drinking, smoking, and eating irritating food.
