How to treat severe polyps

Severe polyps, in most cases, can be treated endoscopically and, if necessary, surgically. Polyps are redundant organisms with epithelial or mucosal manifestations in the lumen of the stomach or colon or even the rectum. At present, according to the nature of polyps, they are usually categorized into inflammatory polyps, hyperplastic polyps and adenomatous polyps. For the treatment of polyps, whether inflammatory, hyperplastic or adenomatous polyps, the first consideration is endoscopic electrocautery excision, and at the same time, endoscopic biopsies are taken for relevant pathological examinations to determine the nature of the polyp. If the polyp is large and cannot be removed endoscopically, surgical treatment is required, or if the endoscopic resection is confirmed to be a malignant tumor by pathology, it is usually necessary to do radical tumor resection, and then relevant radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other comprehensive treatments after the operation. Once polyps are found, it is necessary to go to the hospital in time for systematic examination, listen to the professional doctor’s opinion, further clarify the diagnosis and give standardized and reasonable treatment to avoid delaying the condition.
