To determine whether or not megacolon needs to be combined with medical history, imaging data and pathological examination and other comprehensive diagnosis, there is no such thing as the most effective method.
1. Medical history: patients with megacolon usually have persistent constipation and abdominal distension, and if they do, they need to be vigilant.
2. Imaging data: megacolon can also be diagnosed by X-ray and barium enema, if the X-ray image found that the lesion intestinal tube dilatation, effusion or gas-liquid plane, etc., it can be judged that there are lesions in the colon. The presence of megacolon can also be determined by barium enema, which reveals funnel rows and bird’s beak-like images.
3. Pathologic examination: to determine the existence of megacolon can also take rectal mucosa biopsy, such as the presence of ganglion cells can be clearly diagnosed.
There may be other ways to determine the presence of megacolon, the specific choice of which methods need to be decided according to the patient’s condition.
