Cutting the gallbladder surgery is now mostly done by laparoscopic cholecystectomy, which is less painful. Surgery is traumatic and as long as it is done there will be pain, but the level of pain varies. Gallbladder removal surgery currently has two main ways: laparoscopic surgery and open surgery. The former has a small incision, short time, less postoperative trauma, less pain and faster recovery; the latter is more traumatic and the postoperative pain is more pronounced and the recovery is slower. To summarize, no matter which type of surgery, pain is bound to be there, just to a different degree. Generally the pain is in the range that can be tolerated by the body and does not require special treatment. If the pain is unbearable, the cause needs to be clarified and treatment given if necessary.
