CA125 may be elevated in ovarian teratomas; CA125 has less than 50% sensitivity in ovarian teratomas, but very high specificity. CA125 alone is not accurate enough. CA125 is one of the most widely and intensively studied serum tumor markers, and is a glycoprotein antigen expressed by the epithelial cells of the corpus cavernosum during embryonic development.CA125 is not a specific antigen for ovarian cancer, and there is a tendency for it to be elevated in other parts of the body in other tumors, and in inflammatory conditions as well. CA125 and CA199 have certain significance in the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of ovarian teratoma. When serum CA199 and CA125 levels are elevated at the same time, the presence of immature teratomas should be taken into account, excluding factors such as menstruation and inflammation. If CA125 is elevated, the patient should immediately go to the hospital for examination, under the guidance of the doctor for treatment, do not use drugs without authorization, so as not to cause adverse consequences.
