Fallen pillow point is also known as external laogong point, the location of external laogong point is on the dorsal side of the hand, located between the second and third metacarpal bones, in the 0.5 inch depression after the metacarpophalangeal joint.
External Laogong Point belongs to the meridians and external qi points, it is a special acupuncture point for treating falling pillows while sleeping, and it is also known as falling pillow point because it is effective in treating falling pillow disease. External Laogong Point is in the dorsal muscle between the second bone, opposite to the Laogong Point on the palm side of the hand, and the site of this point has the network of veins on the back of the hand and the dorsal artery of the palm, and the dorsal nerve of the finger of the superficial branch of the radial nerve.
The main treatments for external Laogong point include umbilical cord wind (equivalent to neonatal tetanus in western medicine), falling pillow (mainly manifested by soreness, pain and unfavorable movement of one side of the neck after sleeping), and swelling and pain in the arm.
